A private record, and a way to call for help.

Write down what happened, and keep it. If you are ever in danger, reach the people you trust in a moment. You decide what is kept, and who ever sees it.

A record, and a lifeline.

Two things, both entirely yours. Nothing is shared with anyone until you decide it should be.

Step 3 of 4 of a new report, In your words, with an empty box that says Explain the incident in your words, an optional Add a witness button, and a note that this report is encrypted and only shared when you decide.

A record

Write down what happened, guided step by step. It is encrypted the moment you save it, and it stays yours. About two minutes.

Kept private by default. You choose if it is ever shared, as a clean PDF.
The home screen: a large SOS button with the words Holding sends an alert to your trusted contacts with your location. You'll have a few seconds to cancel first. Below it, Report an incident and Your reports buttons, and a Call 999 button.

A lifeline

Hold the signal, and a text goes to the people you trust, with your location if you have allowed it. Then emergency numbers stay one tap away. You can rehearse the whole thing first, and nothing is sent.

It alerts your contacts. It does not contact 999 for you. The app says so, plainly.

How it works.

Six steps, and each one tells you what happens before it happens.

  1. You record it

A short, guided set of steps walks you through what happened, at your own pace.

  2. It stays private

Reports are encrypted and kept to yourself by default, and never shared until you choose to.

  3. You choose to share, or not

Turn a report into a clean PDF and give it to someone you trust. Only when you decide, never automatically.

  4. Add the people you trust

Choose who is texted if you ever hold SOS. Their details are encrypted on your phone, and you can change them at any time.

  5. Practice an alert

A rehearsal of the real thing: the hold, the countdown, and the message they would get. Nothing is sent and no one is notified.

  6. Help, when you need it

Hold the SOS button. Your trusted contacts get a text with your location, and Call 999 is one tap away.

Most of it is never written down.

Hate incidents go unrecorded for reasons that repeat: the fear of not being believed, no simple way to keep a record, and the worry of being seen doing it.

Salam Signal is built around the person affected, not a process and not an institution. A private record you hold, and a way to reach the people who will answer. That is the whole idea.

Privacy, built in.

Not a policy bolted on afterwards. The way the product is made.

Pseudonymous by design

A name you choose and a phone number. Never your legal name, never your address.

Encrypted content

Your reports are encrypted on your phone and our servers, and never shared until you choose to.

Kept in the UK

Your data is stored in the UK. We never sell it, and never use it for advertising.

You can leave anytime

Download everything on your account, or delete it entirely, from Settings.

If it could help someone, tell them.

The people who need this often do not know it exists. If someone you know has been through it, let them know they can keep a record, on their own terms.

Keep a record. Keep a lifeline.

Set up takes a name and a phone number. Nothing more.

In an emergency, always call 999. Salam Signal alerts the contacts you choose. It does not contact emergency services for you.
